Grants

Grants are a form of aid that you do not need to repay. There are federal and state grants as well as Carlow-sponsored grants. Grant availability varies based on your student type.

Federal TEACH Grant

Carlow participates in the Federal TEACH Grant program, which provides grants of up to $4,000 a year to graduate students who plan a career in teaching and are enrolled in one of the following programs: MEd Special Education, MEd Education/Reading Specialist, MEd Secondary Education (Biology, Chemistry or Math subject areas only), MEd Curriculum & Instruction/Specialization in ESL — learn more at Federal Student Aid.

Carlow University participates in PHEAA’s GROW PA Scholarship Grant Program which helps students pay for school and builds the workforce in Pennsylvania for in-demand programs.   

To be considered for the Grow PA Grant Program, you must: 

• File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 

• Be a current resident of Pennsylvania 

• Meet satisfactory academic progress for federal student aid 

• Have not earned a bachelor’s degree 

• Be enrolled at least half-time in an eligible associate or bachelor’s degree program that leads to a job in an in-demand occupation as determined by PHEAA 

• Sign a Master Promissory Note agreeing to repay all funds received if the work requirement is not met, including any potential interest accrued.
