The Carlow University Division of Information Technology provides a broad range of technology services and tools for all members of the Carlow community. Help! services are available 8 a.m.-8 p.m. most days. Staff can be reached by phone, email or on-site.

You can explore the technology resources Carlow students use on a daily basis:

  • WebAdvisor: Use when you need to register for courses, check grades and find out where your classrooms are located on campus.
  • Isadora Intranet: Use to find up-to-date information about campus happenings, directories, policies, services and other resources.
  • CelticOnline: Carlow’s official campus learning management system (LMS). It includes video and written tutorials to acquaint you with the system. Once you have registered for classes you will be able to access course information and materials (varies per course) through CelticOnline.
  • Emergency Communications Omnilert: You will receive emails and text messages regarding important campus emergency information such as delays and closings.  (You will automatically be enrolled in Omnilert.)

On-campus Resources

Several computer labs and campus computers are accessible with your Carlow ID card. When you log in to a computer in a lab using your Carlow username and password, you have automatic access to myPortal, can use any of the installed software on the computer, can log in to other technology resources, and can print using your Carlow ID card.

If your device has wireless capability, all of our Oakland campus buildings provide wireless access.

Technical specifications for students

The following minimum specifications are recommended for Carlow students. For better performance, we strongly suggest exceeding these specifications. 

  • Internet access: high-speed (at least 10 Mbps) connection like cable or FiOS
  • Technology: Personal computer (Windows 10 or latest Mac OS, 16GB memory, Intel core i5, 256 GB hard drive, anti-virus software), headset or headphones with microphone, webcam
  • Software and applications: Microsoft Office 2016 (provided by Carlow), Google Chrome, Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash and Shockwave players, QuickTime, Java

Security requirements: Virus scanning software (McAfee, Norton), malware scanning tool, latest security patches
