Meet Carlow’s Director of Print Services in the Celtic Print Center, Jeff Kearney! A Pittsburgh native, Jeff has more than two decades of experience in marketing and communications, with a deep background in print production and brand management.
Jeff earned his bachelor’s degree in corporate communications from Duquesne University, where he subsequently worked for over 20 years in the Marcom department. He began his career as a writer before transitioning into print services, gaining extensive expertise in overseeing print operations, ensuring brand consistency, and optimizing resources for large-scale university initiatives.
A lifelong Pittsburgher, he grew up in the South Side, attended Brashear High School, and now lives in Baldwin with his wife, daughter, and their three cats.
When he’s not overseeing print production, Jeff is a passionate fan of all things Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar. He also lends his voice as a singer in the local rock band Chain Reaction.

Carlow University has always sought to meet students where they are and meaningfully engage with the community, all with the goal of creating a more just and merciful world. To that end, we are pleased to announce a teach-out agreement for students affected by the recent closure of Pittsburgh Technical College (PTC). The aim is to provide an uninterrupted education to PTC students, giving them the opportunity to complete their degree.
As part of this agreement, Carlow will:
• Accept credits earned at PTC by potential transfer students
• Make available transfer guides for select majors
For its part, Pittsburgh Technical College has agreed to make all student information available to Carlow upon request, allowing for the smooth transition of all PTC transfers.

Carlow University is more than a place to polish off those last few credits before graduation. Our students train to become compassionate leaders who will change the world for the better, with faculty and staff dedicated to guiding your journey, wherever it may lead.
When you choose Carlow, you’ll receive:
• Advice from a dedicated enrollment counselor, devoted to your seamless transition into your chosen area of study
• A supportive, collaborative community
• A holistic education rooted in the values of Mercy, Service, Discovery, and Hospitality
However long you spend with us, your time at Carlow is sure to be transformational.
While all transfers are welcome in the Carlow community, we believe the following academic programs are particularly well suited for PTC students:
• Bachelor in Business Management
• Practical Nurse Certificate
• Associate in Surgical Technology
If you don’t see your major on the list above, Carlow has a variety of academic offerings for those looking to reach their full potential.

Choosing Carlow as your transfer destination means joining an institution whose legacy of service and excellence goes back nearly a century. Curious? Then take the next step.

The programs offered in the Department of Physical Therapy program at Carlow University encompass the Mercy mission to serve the community by promoting the dignity of every person, advocating for equity and inclusion to address matters of social justice. At Carlow, we believe that non-technical skills are equally essential to your health professional training as the technical skills. Our programs emphasize three important habits of healthcare practice: Heart (professional formation/responsibilities), Head (cognitive knowledge), and Hand (clinical skills). It is the training in the habits of the heart that will allow you to act above and beyond your technical responsibilities and advocate for your patients. We strive to graduate healthcare professionals who would use the following principles within their professional practice.

Carlow has a long history and outstanding reputation for educating great nurses. Our mercy centered mission, along with small class sizes and state of the art skills and simulation facilities make Carlow a perfect place to pursue a nursing degree. Students receive individualized attention and mentorship from our experienced nursing faculty who are experts in their area of nursing. Located in the heart of Oakland, we have partnerships with healthcare facilities within the Pittsburgh region and easy access to a variety of clinical experiences within the community, in acute care and community health. Throughout our program, Carlow nursing students learn about nursing care with a focus on ethics, a commitment to social justice and a goal of decreasing heath disparities. Students have opportunities to explore different aspects of nursing as they learn and grow into professional nurses. If you have an interest in becoming a nurse, whether you are looking for a traditional BSN program, a 2nd Degree BSN program, an RN to BSN program, or a Practical Nurse Certificate program, one or Carlow’s undergraduate nursing programs can help you achieve your goal of becoming a nurse.

Carlow Skills and Innovative Learning (CSIL) skills and simulation labs are incorporated into all clinical courses in the curriculum.
