How You Can SupportRita Smith is a middle school social studies teacher at the Carlow Campus Laboratory School. She graduated from Duquesne University in the spring of 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Social Studies Education. She also received a minor in Psychology and a certificate in Equity Education. Rita was lucky enough to student teach for 16 weeks at Pittsburgh’s CAPA High School. She also completed a six-week student teaching experience in Armidale, Australia to broaden her horizons. In the classroom, Rita is passionate about engaging students in history by bringing connections to the present. She understands the importance of providing equitable education to all students. Rita is excited to be a part of the Carlow community to continue developing her skills and style in the world of education.
