CJ Green serves as the Assistant Director of Enrollment at Carlow University, where he leads First Year Experience (FYE) initiatives with a strong commitment to student success and holistic support. With a background in higher education, social work, and community-based advocacy, CJ brings a student-centered approach to his work, ensuring that each student feels seen, supported, and empowered from the moment they arrive on campus.
At Carlow, CJ plays a pivotal role in shaping the onboarding experience for new students. He is responsible for coordinating Welcome Weekend, First-Year Orientation, and Carlow Transition Course (CTC) instruction. In these roles, CJ designs programming that cultivates belonging, fosters peer connections, and equips students with the tools to navigate college life with confidence. Beyond FYE and recruitment, CJ serves on the university’s CARE Team and the Retention and Compass Committees, actively contributing to early intervention efforts and cross-campus collaboration to support student persistence and well-being.
CJ’s commitment to fairness and access is rooted in both professional and personal experience. As a former transfer student, CJ understands the barriers many students face on their educational journeys. This perspective has informed every position he’s held, from his work in admissions at Duquesne University, where he helped create articulation agreements and streamline transfer pathways.
With a B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Social Work, CJ integrates trauma-informed and developmental frameworks into his work. He is certified in recognizing and reporting child abuse and has completed formal training in diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring his work remains inclusive and responsive to student needs.
Above all, CJ is devoted to cultivating a culture of care at Carlow. Whether guiding a student through their first weeks on campus, advocating for policies that promote equity, or building collaborative partnerships across departments, CJ leads with empathy, intention, and a deep belief in the transformative power of education.
Outside of work, CJ enjoys hiking, running, exploring the city’s food scene, reading, and spending time with his dog.
