A Pittsburgh native, Dr. Scott serves as the SMART FAITHworks (SFW) Medical Director and Licensed Medical Provider for SFW’s partnership to provide the clinical operations for the Carlow University Health and Wellness Clinic and the Rhode Island SMART Clinics. She brings extensive experience across diverse clinical environments, including community-based outpatient care, pediatric and adolescent care, sports medicine programs, lifestyle and preventive medicine settings, correctional health, and veteran disability evaluations. Her background includes providing acute and chronic medical care, serving as a team physician for school athletic programs, and the delivery of multidisciplinary care.
In her primary role as Medical Director for the new Carlow University Health and Wellness Clinic, operated by SFW, Dr. Scott oversees the delivery of exceptional Whole-Person, integrative care within the SMART framework. She also supports SFW Chief Medical Officer, Christopher Conti, MD, by providing clinical guidance and support to licensed medical providers across SFW’s Rhode Island SMART Clinics.
Committed to advancing health equity through innovative care models, Dr. Scott is drawn to the SMART Model for its unique ability to improve both health and academic outcomes in synergy. She values collaborating with SMART teams and applying her expertise to a model she is confident is innovative, highly impactful, and essential for today’s academic communities.
Dr. Scott’s career reflects a deep commitment to the highest standards of patient care. She is the Physician and Owner of Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh, a direct primary care practice focused on family and sports medicine. In addition, she is dedicated to advancing the next generation of clinicians through her faculty appointment at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where she teaches and mentors third- and fourth-year medical students within the Department of Family Medicine.
A recognized leader and innovator, Dr. Scott has been nominated as one of Pennsylvania Medical Society’s “Top Physicians Under 40,” and her work has been supported through multiple grants focused on clinical education, resident wellness, and nutrition-based health initiatives. Her research contributions include nationally presented abstracts, peer-reviewed publications, and participation in major urology, sports medicine, and surgical simulation studies.
