Question: What type of dining services will be offered when the fall semester begins?
Answer: All self-serve food services will be eliminated, and there will be no buffet stations. All food will be packaged to grab and go at stations containing sneeze guards. There will be hot food options as well as a variety of sandwiches, salads and sushi. Self-serve fountain beverage and hydration stations will be eliminated, and use of personal mugs, cups or containers will be prohibited. The University is still working out details on grab and go options for salad bar items.
Question: What dining facilities will be open? Where can I obtain the grab and go food?
Answer: All dining facilities will be open, including the 24-hour Celtic Market. Mobile ordering will be implemented to reduce large gatherings of people. Dining areas include: Tiernan Dining Hall, Celtic Café, Frank’s Café and Celtic Market.
Question: What are the hours for dining?
Answer: Tiernan hours are Monday through Friday: breakfast 7-9 a.m.; lunch 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.; dinner 5-8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday: brunch 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.; and dinner 5-8 p.m. Celtic Café hours are currently being determined. Frank’s is open Monday through Thursday: 7:30-10 a.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. The Celtic Market is open 24 hours a day.
Question: How will physical distancing practices be implemented in these areas?
Answer: Traffic will be limited in the dining spaces to allow for a 6-foot distancing between individuals. Seating will reflect this social distancing, and floor decals will guide users between grab and go stations and the checkout line.
