What is Graduate Scholar's Day?

Presenting at the Carlow University Graduate Colloquium provides a great opportunity for professionals like you to share your work and expertise, expand the vision and perspective of your field, and receive feedback from peer professionals and the general public.

When is Graduate Scholar's Day?

This year, the 15th Graduate Scholar's Day will be held on April 11, 2019 from 5:00pm until 8:30pm in the AJ Palumbo Science and Technology Center (3301 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA  15213) on Carlow University's Oakland Campus.

Who can attend Graduate Scholar's Day?

This event is open to the general public and is free to all. Undergraduate and potential Carlow students are encouraged to attend for the opportunity to see what graduate school can mean for you!

Who can present at Graduate Scholar's Day?

Any Carlow University graduate student is welcome to present at this event, just follow these steps:

1. Find a Faculty Sponsor

Faculty Sponsors must approve the work, and submit the Graduate Scholar's Day Submission Form (online only).

2. You will be notified in late March if your proposal has been accepted by the Graduate Colloquium Committee.

Please note: Submissions will be reviewed by the Colloquium Committee. Each program will decide the medium of scholarship; presentation or poster. This will be indicated on the notification sent in late March, or you may speak to your faculty sponsor for more information.

3.If you have been selected to present a poster, please review the following Poster Presentation Guidelines:

Poster presentations must follow general guidelines created by the Scholars' committee. Posters must be 36 x 48 inches, digitally designed, and printed on a professional printer. Additional formatting requirements (template) should be provided by the graduate program/ faculty sponsor (one possible template attached). When creating a template please consider the Carlow University Style Guide: https://www.carlow.edu/brand_standards.aspx

The Carlow University Print Center, located in the lower level of St. Agnes Church, now offers poster printing services for students at a minimal cost of $10.00 (b/w)-$20.00 (color). Bring your project to the Print Center on flash drive or access it through a cloud-based account to print the poster in person.

 Print service hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
