Faculty Attendance and RSVP
All full time faculty are expected to attend Commencement, and adjuncts are warmly invited to attend. If you are full time faculty, you must fill out the RSVP form. If you are an adjunct faculty member, you only need to fill out the RSVP form if you intend to participate in the ceremony. Click on the FACULTY RSVP LINK to submit your RSVP.
If you are full time faculty and you cannot attend Commencement, you must notify your Dean in advance.
Academic Regalia is required to participate in both Baccalaureate and Commencement. Please contact the bookstore to make sure you have the appropriate regalia.412-578-6164.
This beautiful ceremony will take place at St. Paul Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. Faculty are encouraged to attend the Baccalaureate Mass, as it is part of our Catholic heritage. Please arrive by 9:30 and line up in the lower level reception hall. A police officer will stay in the hall during the ceremony to guard your personal belongings.
- A reception will follow the ceremony in the lower level.
- Regalia is required for the Baccalaureate Mass.
The Commencement ceremony is at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall. Please enter using the side door (off University Place) and go to the Hall of Valor to line up. There will be coat racks and water for you. A police officer will remain in the Hall of Valor during the ceremony to guard your personal belongings.
- Arrive by 11:30 and check in with the staff when you arrive at the Hall of Valor. You will be given a numbered card telling you which order to line up in.
- Please be in the correct line up order by 12:35.
There is metered street parking near the cathedral. We do not have the use of the Oakland Catholic H.S. parking lot for 2018.
The UPMC lot will open at 8:00 am and is free for our use for the day. There is also parking in the Soldiers and Sailors underground garage. The cost is between $5 and $10.
If you need handicapped parking, please contact Margaret Sullivan at 412-578-6679 to make arrangements. There is a handicapped lot next to the Cathedral, but handicapped parking at Soldiers and Sailors is extremely limited.
