Effective simulation labs need adequate lab space, sophisticated recording equipment, specialty mannequins, and the necessary clinical tools and equipment to create real-life patient care environments. The use of simulation in undergraduate nursing education has become an essential teaching/learning strategy for most nursing programs. Research indicates that simulation is effective in promoting communication skills and clinical competence for nurses and can be used as a substitute for up to 50% of clinical practice time for pre-licensure nursing students.

As Carlow continues to distinguish itself as a premier provider of quality nursing education and works to meet the demand for nurses in our region and beyond, expanded capacity to meet learner needs must occur. This growth requires investment in creating dynamic learning spaces with high-fidelity simulation technology to ensure that Carlow’s healthcare graduates meet the rigorous demands of real-life clinical settings. We hope you will consider a gift to support these critical needs and invest in the future of our region’s workforce.
