Dear Carlow Community,

Below are a few important reminders. Moving forward, note that we’re adjusting our University Communication schedule to an as-needed basis.

Continue to regularly visit our website and social media channels for COVID-19 related information.

PA COVID-19 Tracking App

At the recommendation of the Allegheny County Health Department, Carlow University is asking all employees to download the state’s new “COVID Alert PA” app. This free app can be easily downloaded to your cell phone from the Apple Store or Google Play. It’s easy to use and is an effective tool for reporting your own health and potential exposure. You also can receive helpful information and alerts about your potential exposure to COVID-19 based on the app’s contact tracing capabilities.

Disinfecting hardware (keyboard, mouse, touchscreen)

There has been some confusion surrounding the disinfection of hardware. The use of misting disinfectant spray is allowed on keyboards, mouses, and touchscreens – if you allow it to air dry. Disinfectant spray cannot be used on electronics, microphones, kiosks, or podiums.

We encourage you to visit the website for the weekly screening schedule and continue to

self-screen prior to coming on campus. These measures are working well. We’ve had an extremely low number of failed screens since the beginning of the fall semester. The weekly screening schedule adjusts according to need.

Planning an event?

If you are managing an event, be sure to submit an attendance report within 24 hours after your event.

Recognizing the need for additional study areas on campus, the University is actively working with Facilities to identify and prepare classrooms to be utilized as additional study areas.

Stay healthy and be well.
