Dear Faculty and Staff,

As this week comes to a close, please a few updates for your attention:

Remote Work Status Extended

All employees currently identified to perform in a remote capacity will remain in that work status until after the return of the University holiday, January 4, 2021. The University will continue to evaluate this status in accordance with the guidelines of the CDC, the Allegheny County Health Department and the Common Good principles.

As previously shared, employees currently working remotely will receive at least two-weeks’ notice of any return to work schedules by their manager if their status will be changing based on University needs.

During this extended period, the Reentry and Resiliency Subgroup will finalize and share details on revisions to remote work provisions for supplies and other related needs, such as remote printing, within the next few weeks.

We recognize that employees working remotely may need to come on campus during this time period. Remote employees must contact their supervisors in advance before returning to campus. Additionally, all employees will be required to go through one of the designated screening areas identified on campus at any time when re-entering campus.

Screening Schedule Changes

Please note we are making changes to the screening schedule, effective Monday, October 5. Everyone is encouraged to self-screen daily before coming to or going out on campus. Also, everyone coming to campus should continue to complete a daily screening and obtain a completed sticker. The full screening schedule can be accessed on our website.

Visitor Policy and Events Protocols

Please be aware that new guidelines are in place to protect the safety and health of everyone on campus at all times. All events should be held virtually whenever possible. There will be no in-person events with the general public or outside people (those who are not a part of the Carlow community). Exceptions include faculty-invited speakers, guests of the Admissions Office, and the President’s Office.

An event is defined as any in-person gathering of more than two people that is not classroom instruction. If holding an in-person event there are some considerations and new requirements that are outline on the attached documentation. Attached as well is the final Visitor Policy and Instructions and Waiver and Release Form for your use with adherence to all guidelines therein.

Parking Information – Valet Schedule

Carlow University Police are changing the hours that the valets will be on duty. New hours for the valets in Lot A are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will no longer be valets in Lot C. Carlow University Police are willing to escort you to your vehicle. Please call on the non-emergency line (412) 578-6007 to request an escort.

Have a safe and healthy weekend.

Sincerely,

The COVID-19 Re-Entry and Resiliency Implementation Team
