Dear Faculty and Staff,

We eagerly anticipate the beginning of our academic year which will begin next Monday, August 24, 2020.

As we continue our preparations and honor the Common Good Pledge that we pledged together this morning, all faculty and staff must complete the safety instructional videos  and attend one of the town halls that are being held as a way for faculty and staff to get answers to their questions about a safe and resilient re-entry. All employees will need to submit the assessment as a part of the training videos prior to reentry to campus.

The next town hall is scheduled for tomorrow, August 18 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Additional town halls are also being planned for future dates.

PPE and Face Employee Mask Distribution
The process for PPE and Face Mask distribution will begin on Wednesday August 19, 2020. All Carlow University employees will receive 1 Re-Usable mask which can be picked up at the Police Dispatch center located in Frances Warde Hall, 3rd floor main entrance.

All employees arriving to collect their masks items must be wearing a mask prior to entering Frances Ward and the Police Dispatch is located at the entry of Frances Warde Hall. Employees will be required to provide their Carlow ID for positive identification purposes and the ID will be checked against an active employee roster that will be provided by Human Resources. The Dispatch Officer will mark that the employee has received their allotted PPE.

Distribution of the PPE Face Mask will be limited to specific hours throughout the weed as follows:
  • Monday-Friday 7am-9am, 11am-1pm and 3pm-6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 7am-4pm
Please contact Police Dispatch at 412-578-6005 with any additional questions.

Screen Entry Locations
Carlow will begin the required screenings when you enter campus the week of August 17th through August 23rd at Frances Warde Hall and then the week of August 24th the additional locations will be Frances Warde Hall, AJ Palumbo Science Center, and University Commons 5th Floor. There will be a separate email communication about these details regarding the schedule/date/times. Each day, each person will be required to go through a screening entry location upon entering campus and will need to display their dated sticker to show that they passed the screening. As a reminder, you are required to wear a face mask on campus and if you do not have one there will be one available at one of the screening locations.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Program
As a reminder, Carlow University has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) EmployeeConnect – ComPsych, sponsored through Lincoln Financial who is one of our insurance carriers. The purpose of this program is to help facilitate employees’ efforts to resolve programs that can affect job performance and general well-being especially during this pandemic period.
