Dear Students,

We are sincerely looking forward to your fall return and are actively preparing for your vibrant academic experience and safe re-entry to campus in accordance with CDC guidelines and guidance from Governor Wolf’s office, the Allegheny County Health Department, and Pittsburgh Mayor Peduto’s Office.

Students, faculty and staff will always be wearing masks while on campus, practicing social distancing and benefiting from regular, frequent disinfection of all common areas and surfaces. Additionally, everyone will be required to participate in a safety training video prior to the start of the semester.

Summer session campus access

As noted, we are deploying staff to select areas of campus for the purposes of deep cleaning and fall preparation. Students needing to come to campus during the summer should confirm with their faculty the need to do so, notify Campus Police upon arrival, and clean when departing from any common area spaces with the supplies that are readily visible throughout campus. This will allow us to coordinate targeted cleaning of common areas.

Evolving conditions

We recognize that there has been a recent spike in COVID-19 cases reported in Allegheny County and throughout the state. Given the fluid nature of this pandemic, please know that if the need arises, we are prepared to rapidly shift learning modalities if directed to do so by the CDC or state authorities. We have an adaptable, dynamic academic plan in place to ensure that you will continue to receive the high caliber of education and support services for which Carlow University is recognized.

Fall technology access

Given the pandemic unknowns, we also want to ensure that you have the appropriate technology in place to support you when the fall semester begins. The Center for Digital Learning and Innovation (CDLI) has provided a Celtic Online Student Tool kit noting the important materials and steps. If you find yourself with limitations, please submit a report and let the team know about your needs, questions or concerns. We will be in contact to assist you.

Our strength, resiliency and adaptability in the face of rapid change remains constant.

I encourage you to continue reading our weekly emails and frequently visit our website. We update it frequently. I hope you and your families are enjoying a healthy summer as you prepare for your fall return to campus.
