Plan being finalized for campus return in fall
University Communication to Students
Though schedules may change, please know offices remain open daily during the summer other than for University holidays. Office personnel continue to work remotely in an abundance of caution during the pandemic, responding to both email and phone messages, so please reach out if you need assistance or direct support. Additional updates for the week include:
Fall COVID-19 Plan
We are finalizing the initial fall plan for release this week, outlining guidance on how the University will approach the August re-opening and Fall semester. The plan will follow CDC and State guidelines to facilitate a safe and effective learning environment. Student Athletes should look for a specific communication outlining the plan for return to competition from Athletics within the next week. Given the uncertainty of the pandemic, updates will be made to the plan as appropriate and shared widely.
Commitment to the Common Good
An important element of the Fall plan will be the call to demonstrate our University values through a “Commitment to the Common Good.” To protect our collective welfare and safety, all Carlow community members will be invited to sign and honor a commitment to regard the dignity and worth of each other.
Spring Textbook Rentals Due
Please return all Spring textbook rentals as soon as possible. You may use the free UPS label provided by the Carlow Bookstore. Contact the bookstore to make arrangements if you need to return them in person.
Do not place your rentals in the drop box outside of the building. It is for library books ONLY.
Effective COVID-19 Pandemic Learning
Whether face-to-face, on-line, or in hybrid form, it is important that you be effectively prepared to connect and engage in the learning experience. The Center for Digital Learning and Innovation (CDLI) has provided a Celtic Online Student Toolkit noting the important materials and steps.
If you find yourself with limitations, please contact CDLI or submit a report to the Care Team and we will be in contact to assist you.
Streamlined Disabilities Services Requests
The Disabilities Services Office (DSO) has instituted a new, self-serve system, Accommodate, for students requesting accommodations. Students who wish to request accommodations, be assessed for a suspected disability, or renew accommodations should complete a Confidential Request Form
to begin the accommodation process.
We will continue to update you on Thursday and hope you remain safe and well.
