By earning the master of science in nursing (MSN) degree for the family nurse practitioner (FNP) at Carlow, gain skills for advanced practice nursing in a variety of healthcare settings, including privates offices and practices, hospice centers, nurse-managed health centers, school clinics, home health care, and community health centers.

Graduates of this FNP program are eligible to sit for board certification as a family nurse practitioner through the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). The program is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. All members of the FNP faculty maintain clinical practice and national certification.

Program requirements

In order to be admitted, you need to have completed an approved undergraduate statistics course. While in the program, you will complete 49 credits of courses, which are offered in a hybrid of in-person and online courses. You will also complete a total of 600 clinical hours, taking place in a mix of urban and rural health care agencies.
