Carlow University offers a 3-Year Degree program designed for driven, undergraduate students who wish to graduate in three years with a bachelor’s degree or pursue a master’s in four. Academic options include accounting, forensic accounting, business management, human resource management, psychology, criminology, political science, communication and social work.

3-Year Degree plan

Once formally enrolled, students follow an academic plan for their respective program choice, a sample outline is below. Courses are taken across fall, spring and summer terms with summer courses delivered completely online.

Students who are enrolled in a four-year degree can opt into the program if they have earned fewer than 24 credits. Academic concentrations are possible; students are encouraged to discuss this with their academic advisor. Once enrolled in the 3-Year Degree program students can transition to a four-year degree.

Eligible 3-Year Degree programs

Students can hold leadership roles and participate in the honors program, study abroad programs, athletics, research, service-learning, and internships. The extent of students’ opportunities to participate is largely dependent on student schedules. 


Admission requirements for the 3-Year Degree program

All students entering the 3-Year Degree program are required to:

  • Have a minimum 3.25 cumulative high school GPA
  • Indicate interest in the 3-Year Degree program on your admissions application
  • Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA at Carlow to remain on the path toward a 3-year degree

Financial aid information

In general, students enrolled in the 3-Year Degree program find that costs covered with grants and scholarships would be similar to a four-year program. Institutional grants and scholarships are available for full-time enrollment during the fall and spring semesters, as well as federal and state grants and federal loans. For summer enrollment, Carlow offers reduced tuition, federal loans are available as well as state and federal grants to those who qualify.
