Eight Softball players earn RSC Scholar-Athlete honors

FULL RELEASE | CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Eight Carlow University softball players were named to the River States Conference Scholar-Athlete Team the league announced Thursday.

The 2020 RSC Softball Scholar-Athlete Team proudly recognized 67 student-athletes from around the conference this year.

To be named, student-athletes must have a 3.25 grade-point average or higher, have at least two semesters of attendance prior to the current term, participate in an RSC sport and be nominated by their institution.

Keyara Morgan                 JR/Claysburg, Pa.
Ciara Murray                    SO/LaSalle, Ontario, Canada
Annamarie Osiecki           JR/Erie, Pa.
Morgan Pierce                  SO/Leechburg, Pa.
Kasey Wolford                  JR/Lower Burrell, Pa.
Lexie Young                      JR/Leechburg, Pa.

Asbury (Ky.) University led all RSC softball programs with 12 team members named.

The Champions of Character team recognizes one member from each RSC school who best exemplifies the five core values of NAIA Champions of Character: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Servant Leadership and Sportsmanship.

Honorees were nominated by their head coach for exemplifying these character traits. Ashley Hoak (SR/Elizabeth, Pa.) earned   the honor for the Celtics.
