Kijowski and Miller represent Carlow well at NAIA Indoor Track & Field nationals

BROOKINGS, S.D. --- Carlow University juniors Larissa Kijowski (Dayton, Pa.) and Olivia Miller (Bolivar, Pa.) represented the Celtics at the 40th Annual Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championship March 5-7 in Brookings, S.D.

Kijowski competed in the 1,000 meter run Friday. She placed 12th of 17 athletes, finishing with a time of 3:00.55.

Kijowski ran 3:00.28 at the Kent State Tune-Up Feb. 22 to meet the NAIA "A" qualifying standard and earn her berth to nationals.

Aspen Dirr of Huntington won the event with a time of 2:50.10.

In the field, Miller leapt 10.95 meters to land in 29th place out of 34 competitors in triple jump.

Miller also earned her NAIA "A" qualifying mark at the Kent State Tune-Up, leaping 11.58 meters in triple jump.

Destiny Copeland of Indiana Tech won the event with a distance of 12.34 meters.

The Celtics kick off outdoor track & field season March 21 at the Geneva College Golden Tornado Classic.
