PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's basketball lost a River
States Conference game, 77-53, to the University of Rio Grande
(Ohio) Saturday at Donahue Pavilion.
The visiting RedStorm (12-17, 5-10 RSC) went on a 16-5 run to
start the game, taking a 41-25 lead into halftime over the Celtics
(1-25, 0-13 RSC).
Carlow tried to chip away at the lead in the second half, but
Rio Grande kept the game just out of reach.
The Celtics shot 30.3 percent from the field and shot five
percent better than Rio Grande from the foul line.
The RedStorm out-rebounded the Celtics, 59-35, and scored 44
points in the paint to Carlow's 32. Rio Grande scored 30 points off
the bench to Carlow's 16, but the Celtics forced 18 Rio Grande
turnovers on the day.
Junior Swade Redman (Jeannette, Pa.) led the
Celtics with 10 points and three assists.
The Celtics travel to Ohio Christian University for a 7 p.m. RSC
