MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Carlow
University juniors Larissa Kijowski and
Olivia Miller earned River States Conference
Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for Jan.
two school records to pick up RSC Track Athlete of the Week. The
Dayton, Pa., native broke her own school records in the 1,000
meters and the mile at the YSU Mid-Major Invitational.
Her time of 3:02.38 in the 1,000 placed second at the NCAA
Division I meet and just missed NAIA national qualification by
three tenths of a second. She also ran the mile in 5:18 for 12th
her claim on RSC Field Athlete of the Week. It is the third week in
a row she's won the honor.
Miller, from Bolivar, Pa., qualified
for the NAIA indoor national championship in the pentathlon with
her performance at the YSU Mid-Major Invitational.
She racked up 3,059 points to qualify and set three school records
in the process. That put her third of 21 athletes at the NCAA
Division I meet. She also competed in the triple jump placing 12th
with a distance of 10.89 meters.
The Celtics will be at the RSC
Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday, Feb. 7 at Tiffin,
