PITTSBURGH --- Five Carlow University men's basketball players
put up double-digit points, but the Celtics came up short in a
116-88 loss to Brescia (Ky.) University Thursday at CCAC
The Bearcats (7-13, 2-6 RSC) went on a 23-7 run early in the
first half to head into halftime with a comfortable 55-38 lead over
the Celtics (1-20, 0-8 RSC).
Carlow continued to battle throughout the second half but could
not gain enough traction to overcome the first half deficit. Each
team was in double-bonus territory midway through the half.
Sophomore Ed Cahoe (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the
Celtics with 17 points and eight rebounds on the night. He was 7
for 10 from the field with two treys.
Swade Redman (JR/Jeannette, Pa.) added 14
points off the bench. Malcolm
Randall (FR/Bellevue, Pa.), Marcus
Millien (SO/Orlando, Fla.) and Tre'
Harvey (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) each scored 11 points in
the effort. Millien also dished out five assists.
Carlow shot 81.8 percent from the free throw line, but just 44.4
percent from the field compared to Brescia's 58 percent field goal
Brescia out-scored the Celtics, 58-36, in points in the paint
and put up 43 points off the bench to Carlow's 34. The Bearcats
out-rebounded the Celtics, 46-35.
Carlow hosts (RV) Indiana University Southeast for a 3 p.m. game
Saturday, Jan. 25 at Donahue Pavilion, Oakland Catholic High
