PITTSBURGH --- Five Carlow University men's basketball players put up double-digit points, but the Celtics came up short in a 116-88 loss to Brescia (Ky.) University Thursday at CCAC Allegheny.

The Bearcats (7-13, 2-6 RSC) went on a 23-7 run early in the first half to head into halftime with a comfortable 55-38 lead over the Celtics (1-20, 0-8 RSC).

Carlow continued to battle throughout the second half but could not gain enough traction to overcome the first half deficit. Each team was in double-bonus territory midway through the half.

Sophomore Ed Cahoe (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Celtics with 17 points and eight rebounds on the night. He was 7 for 10 from the field with two treys.

Swade Redman (JR/Jeannette, Pa.) added 14 points off the bench. Malcolm Randall (FR/Bellevue, Pa.), Marcus Millien (SO/Orlando, Fla.) and Tre' Harvey (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) each scored 11 points in the effort. Millien also dished out five assists.

Carlow shot 81.8 percent from the free throw line, but just 44.4 percent from the field compared to Brescia's 58 percent field goal percentage.

Brescia out-scored the Celtics, 58-36, in points in the paint and put up 43 points off the bench to Carlow's 34. The Bearcats out-rebounded the Celtics, 46-35.

Carlow hosts (RV) Indiana University Southeast for a 3 p.m. game Saturday, Jan. 25 at Donahue Pavilion, Oakland Catholic High School. Admission is free, or links to live coverage can be found at
