YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio --- Two Carlow University track & field
athletes set new indoor records at the Youngstown State University
Collegiate Invitational Friday.
Junior Larissa Kijowski (Dayton, Pa.)
placed 31st of 90 in the mile run, beating her previous indoor
record by over 10 seconds with a time of 5:24.54.
Freshman Tyhir Royster (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
set two school records in the 200 and 400. Royster ran 53.97 in the
400, beating the school indoor record that had held since Feb. 9,
2018. He placed 47th of 69 runners.
Royster topped his best performance to improve the school record
in the 200 with a time of 22.53. He placed 11th of 71 in a
competitive field that included NCAA DI, II, III and NAIA
The Celtics were a little short-handed on this trip, but
Shannon Depree (SO/Crabtree, Pa.),
Gabrielle Kluger (SR/Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and
Devin Lewis (SR/Charlotte, N.C.) competed
confidently for Carlow.
Depree and Kluger ran the women's 400, and Kluger also competed
in the 200. Lewis threw shot put to represent the Celtics in field
Carlow travels to the Capital University Jessica Sparks Open in
