MARIETTA, Ohio --- Carlow University Track & Field started
the second half of indoor season strong at the Marietta College
Open at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center Saturday.
The women's team placed 6th of 7 and the men's
team placed 7th of 7 at the relatively small
However, it was the individual performances by the Celtics that
highlighted the day.
Larissa Kijowski (JR/Dayton, Pa.) took third
place on the podium and broke the school indoor record in the mile
by over 20 seconds with a time of 5:39.30. Kaitlynn
Melvin (SO/Belle Vernon, Pa.) came in fourth with a
time of 5:59.12.
Olivia Miller (JR/Bolivar, Pa.) placed
second in high jump with a height of 1.50 meters, just shy of the
school indoor record of 1.51 meters she set in 2019. She also
placed second in long jump with a distance of 4.91 meters.

Palmer (Burgettstown, Pa.) also competed in shot put
for the Celtics.
Freshman Tyhir Royster (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
set the pace for the men's team, breaking the school indoor record
in the 300 and placing second with a time of 37.54.
He placed 4th of 20 in the 200 with a time of
23:30 - barely one second shy of the NAIA "B" qualifying standard.
Royster's time of 6.73 earned him 5th in the
55-meter sprint. This set the indoor record for Carlow as the first
time someone has competed in the event.
Senior Javondii Myers (Columbia, S.C.) earned
points for the Celtics by placing second in high jump with a height
of 1.95 meters. He placed eighth in long jump with a distance of

finished the one-mile event for Carlow in 5:45.47, and
Devin Lewis (SR/Charlotte, N.C.) competed in
shot put, throwing a distance of 8.96 meters.
Carlow travels to Youngstown State for a meet on Friday, Jan.
