Men’s Basketball outpaced by Florida National

HIALEAH, Fla. --- Carlow University men's basketball lost its final game in the Sunshine State, 102-61, to Florida National University Friday.

The Conquistadors (11-6) went on a 23-3 run to start the game, taking a 50-25 lead into halftime over the Celtics (0-14).

Sophomore Ernest Howard (Pittsburgh, Pa.) put up 16 of Carlow's 18 points to begin the second half, but it was not enough to chip away at the Conquistadors' lead.

Howard scored a career- and season-high 25 points to lead the Celtics, shooting a blistering 12 for 13 from the field and pulling down six boards. Eugene Goodwine (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) dished out six assists.

Florida National shot the lights out, shooting 59.7 percent from the field and 87 percent from the free throw line. The Conquistadors scored 26 points off Carlow turnovers.

The Celtics return to action on the road Jan. 4 at NCAA DII Fairmont State for a 12 p.m. game.
