Sluggish second half ends in a loss at home for Men’s Basketball

PITTSBURGH --- Despite a strong first half, Carlow University men's basketball lost, 91-65, to Point Park University in a River States Conference city match Saturday at Donahue Pavilion.

The Celtics (0-10, 0-2 RSC) were on a roll from the start and had the home crowd fired up, leading by 10 points midway through the first half.

Point Park (5-4, 1-0 RSC) chipped away at the lead to tie the score, 39-39, as the teams broke for halftime. The Celtics shot 59.3 percent from the field in the first half.

The Pioneers came out in the second half with renewed energy. Carlow led, 47-44, early on in the second half, but Point Park went on a 29-0 run from which the Celtics could not recover.

Point Park's subs scored 39 points off the bench compared to Carlow's 17.

Freshman Tre' Harvey (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was 7 for 10 from the field to lead the team with 15 points.

Marcus Millien (SO/Orlando, Fla.) and Eugene Goodwine (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) each added 11.
