Strong second half lifts Women’s Basketball to victory over Point Park

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's basketball scored a comeback victory, 76-67, over Point Park University in a River States Conference city game Saturday evening at Donahue Pavilion.

The Celtics (6-5, 1-1 RSC) started off hot, scoring nine points right off the bat before Point Park (5-5, 0-1 RSC) had a chance to gain their footing.

Carlow shot 63.6 percent from the field in first quarter, but the Pioneers took a 37-29 lead into halftime.

The Celtics out-scored Point Park, 25-14, in the third quarter to make the score 54-51 at the end of the third. Carlow took it away in the fourth quarter, leading by as many as 12 points at one time.

The Celtics shot 57.1 percent from the free throw line on the night.

Senior Emma Stille (Westerville, Ohio) pulled down over half of Carlow's 48 rebounds with a season-high of 32. She also scored 13 points in over 33 min. on the court.

Sophomore Kamryn Lach (Bethel Park, Pa.) led the team with 16 points, including four treys, and Delaney Daly (SR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) added 14. Daly was a perfect 5 for 5 from the line, and sophomore Megan Ost (Apollo, Pa.) put up 13 points off the bench. Freshman Keagen Brownlee (Pittsburgh, Pa.) added seven steals and dished out five assists.
