Second chance shots lead Women’s Basketball to victory over PSNK

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. --- Carlow University women's basketball picked up a 66-41 win over Penn State New Kensington on the road Friday.

The Celtics (3-3, 3-1 USCAA) took advantage of offensive rebounds to score on second chance shots.

PSU New Kensington (0-3) led, 16-10, after the first quarter, but it was the Celtics who ended up taking a 31-23 lead into halftime. Carlow out-scored the Lions, 35-18, in the second half.

Angelica Orozco (SO/Filmore, Calif.) and Megan Ost (SO/Apollo, Pa.) each put up 13 points for the Celtics. Orozco was 3 for 5 from beyond the arc. Freshman Carly LaZar (Erie, Pa.) was a perfect 4 for 4 from the foul line.

The Celtics shot just 30.4 percent from the field and 60.7 percent from the line, but pulled down 21 offensive boards compared to PSU New Kensington's eight.
