PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's basketball almost recovered from a 28-point deficit, but lost, 76-60, to Villa Maria (N.Y.) College Monday at Oakland Catholic High School.

The Celtics (0-2, 0-1 USCAA) tied the game several times throughout the first half, but the Vikings (2-2) sunk a few more shots to take a 30-21 lead into halftime.

Villa Maria slowly started adding distance in the second half, leading by 28 points with just under five minutes remaining in the game.

Sophomore Michael Truong (Winchester, Va.) hit four treys toward the end of the game to chip away at the Villa Maria lead, but the Celtics were unable to catch up as time ticked off the clock.

Truong was 4 for 8 from beyond the arc and scored 16 points. Tre' Harvey (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) ended the night with 13 points.

The Celtics shot just 29.3 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from the foul line.

Carlow travels to the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown Nov. 13 for a 7 p.m. game. Links to live coverage can be found at
