PITTSBURGH --- The Carlow men's cross country team placed 11th on the tough, hilly course at the River States Conference Championships Saturday at Schenley Park.

It was the University's first time hosting the RSC Cross Country Championships.

Evan Antes (SO/North Versailles, Pa.) finished in 32:40 and Joseph Palmieri (JR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) completed the course in 32:59 to finish near the middle of the 92-man field. Due to injuries, Antes and Palmieri have been the two stalwart athletes competing for the men's team all season long.

Antes earned the Champions of Character award, which is awarded to an athlete who best exemplifies the five core values of the NAIA: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.

WVU Tech won the men's team title for the second year in a row with three runners finishing in the top five and a team score of 40. Michael Ecker-Randolph placed first individually for WVU Tech with a time of 26:01 on the 8k course.
