PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University volleyball put up a tough front against visiting Ohio Christian University, but could not convert it into set wins, losing 3-0 Friday at home.

The Celtics (6-19, 0-15 RSC) started out strong with an opening ace by Taylor Gent (JR/Springdale, Pa.). Carlow took a 9-3 lead in the first set. The Trailblazers (7-21, 4-11 RSC) later picked up an ace to make the score 9-6, which proved to be the turning point of the game. Carlow hit .238, which was the best set of the night for the Celtics.

Ohio Christian gradually extended its lead throughout the game, winning, 25-19.

The Trailblazers won a big rally in the second set to make the score 11-5 and held onto that lead to win, 25-12.

Carlow made a better run of the third set, winning a big rally and adding a handful of aces to keep the score close. The Celtics ran out of steam toward the end, however, and Ohio Christian came away with the third set win, 25-17.

Junior Cache Street (Wilmerding, Pa.) hit .267 on the night with six kills. Ohio Christian had 74 digs compared to Carlow's 34 and the team hit .267 on the night.
