Volleyball has strong first set, but fizzles out in loss to Midway (Ky.)

PITTSBURGH --- Midway (Ky.) University swept Carlow University volleyball, 3-0, Saturday in Saint Joseph Athletic & Fitness Center.

The Celtics (6-18, 0-14 RSC) played well in the first set, hitting .192 compared to Midway's .054, but it was the Eagles (16-13, 6-7 RSC) who pulled away for the 25-18 win.

Midway made quick work of the Celtics in the final two sets, winning 25-9 and 25-8.
The Eagles out-hit Carlow, .207 to .082. and had 63 digs compared to Carlow's 37.

Cache Street (JR/Wilmerding, Pa.) and Ellie Cook (FR/Connellsville, Pa.) added double-digit digs for the Celtics with 10 and 13 respectively.
