PITTSBURGH --- Freshman Natalie DiGiorno (Bethel Park, Pa.) scored a hat trick for the Carlow University women's soccer team in a 3-1 win over Brescia (Ky.) University Thursday at Cupples Stadium.

DiGiorno scored her first goal just minutes into the game from way outside the 18 - a shot that sailed over Brescia goalkeeper Savannah Jackson's head. Erin Thompson (FR/Bethel Park, Pa.) picked up the assist.

Brescia (2-15, 0-9 RSC) evened the score in the 20th minute off the rebound from a free kick opportunity.

DiGiorno sailed another shot over the goalkeeper's head in the 35th minute to send Carlow (4-8-5, 2-2-5 RSC) into the locker room at halftime ahead, 2-1.

DiGiorno's final goal came late in the second half (82') on a misplayed shot that bounced over Brescia goalkeeper Brooke Stiles' head and dribbled into the net.

Brescia's only shot on goal was the goal at 20'. The Celtics out-shot the Bearcats, 26-4.

Carlow hosts Cincinnati Christian University for a River States Conference game Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. at Dormont Memorial Stadium. Links to live coverage will be available at https://bit.ly/WSOC19.
