BECKLEY, W.Va. --- Carlow University women's soccer ended up gridlocked in a defensive battle with WVU Tech on the road Saturday, ending the River States Conference match, 0-0, in double overtime.

The Golden Bears (6-5-1, 5-2-1 RSC) outshot the Celtics, 16-4 (9-3 on goal). Sophomore Lauren Forte (Johnstown, Pa.) stood strong in the net for the entire 110 minutes, stopping all nine shots.

Seven of WVU Tech's shots on goal came in the first half alone.

Natalie DiGiorno (FR/Bethel Park, Pa.) had two shots on goal, and sophomore Allison McLaughlin (McKeesport, Pa.) added the third for the Celtics (3-8-5, 1-2-5 RSC).

Since RSC soccer moved to a points-based system, after today's conference games, Carlow currently sits in ninth place with two games remaining.

Carlow hosts Brescia (Ky.) University on Oct. 31 for a 6 p.m. game at Cupples Stadium. Links to live coverage can be found at
