WVU Tech sweeps Volleyball for second time this season

BECKLEY W.Va. --- WVU Tech volleyball swept Carlow, 3-0, for the second time this season on the road Friday.

The Celtics (6-14, 0-10 RSC) were down a player due to injury and came up short against the Golden Bears (16-10, 5-5 RSC).

Carlow kept the score close in the first set until WVU Tech reached double digits and pulled away, winning 25-17.

The Golden Bears took a commanding, 11-2, lead in the second set, eventually winning 25-12.

Carlow started out the third set strong, but WVU Tech turned it around, winning the set, 25-15, and the match.

The teams were evenly matched defensively, with WVU Tech putting up just one more dig than the Celtics. The Golden Bears hit .320 on the day with 44 kills compared to Carlow's 19.

Katie Tarasovich (FR/Cranberry Twp., Pa.) and Haley Chiusano (SO/Pittsburgh, Pa.) added double digit digs for the Celtics.
