Volleyball swept by RSC West Division leader IU Kokomo

KOKOMO, Ind. --- Carlow University volleyball lost, 3-0, to the River States Conference West Division leader Indiana University Kokomo Saturday.

Kokomo (18-9, 8-1 RSC) picked up 13 service aces on the day, including seven in the 25-10 first set.

The Celtics (6-13, 0-9 RSC) started off the second set, 3-0, and tied the score six times, but the Cougars came up with the 25-17 win.

Carlow started the third set with an ace from Taylor Gent (JR/Springdale, Pa.) and tied the Cougars nine times throughout the game. Ultimately, Kokomo pulled away to win the set, 25-15, and the match.

Cache Street (JR/Wilmerding, Pa.) had 11 kills and Sabrina Skukalek (FR/Sewickley, Pa.) added 24 assists.

Kokomo hit .419 as a team on the day, and the Celtics committed 13 attacking errors.

Kokomo's only conference loss was a 3-1 contest against Point Park University at home Oct. 18. On the flipside, Carlow has not won a game since Sept. 19.

The Celtics continue their October on the road against WVU Tech on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. Carlow lost to WVU Tech at home, 3-0, on Sept. 28. Links to live coverage can be found at https://bit.ly/VB_19.
