MIDDLETOWN, Ohio --- Carlow University men's basketball landed in 13th place on the River States Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, released by the league Wednesday.

The preseason poll and All-RSC selections were announced as part of the 2019-20 RSC Media Day.

Each university created a short video interviewing coaches and players that was posted on the RSC Facebook page.

Head coach Tim Keefer, Rece Henneman (SR/Clarksville, Pa.) and Swade Redman (JR/Jeannette, Pa.) sat down with Sean Meyers to talk all things men's basketball. Watch the complete interview online here.

Carlow returns starting forward Henneman, as well as a number of athletes from last season's roster who saw significant playing time. The Celtics welcomed six true freshmen and two transfers who will add depth this year.

Last season, Carlow went 1-29 overall and 0-17 in conference action.

IU Kokomo was picked first overall of the 13 schools in the RSC preseason poll. The Cougars received 137 votes and eight of the possible 12 first-place votes. That edged out IU East, which was second overall with 134 votes and three first-place votes. IU Southeast came in third with 114 votes, and WVU Tech was fourth with 109 votes, including the remaining two first-place votes.

IU Kokomo was 26-8 overall, 13-5 RSC last year as RSC West Division champions and RSC Championship finalists. The Cougars are picked first in the RSC West this preseason after getting 83 votes in the divisional poll and all 12 of the possible first-place votes to win the division. IU Kokomo, which made it to the Round of 16 of the NAIA Division II National Championship last year, headlines the RSC Preseason All-Conference Team with three selections -- junior guard Trequan Spivey, senior guard Akil McClain and senior guard Antoin Clifton.

Carlow opens its season at home against RSC opponent WVU Tech Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. at Oakland Catholic High School.
