PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's soccer tied Ohio Christian University, 1-1, in double overtime Saturday. It was the fourth time the Celtics (2-7-4, 0-1-4 RSC) have tied a River States Conference opponent this season.

The Trailblazers (7-4-1, 4-1-1 RSC) struck first in the 24th minute on a shot to the top left corner of the net. Carlow answered just minutes later when senior Rachel Flory (Huntington Beach, Calif.) found Alexa Schwab (JR/Conway, Pa.) who went top-shelf on the OCU goalkeeper from outside the 18.

The game remained scoreless for 80 minutes despite each team putting strong shots on goal.
Freshman Natalie DiGiorno (Bethel Park, Pa.) had a nice chance to score in the 53rd minute, but the Ohio Christian keeper came up with a big stop.

Carlow out-shot Ohio Christian, 20-12, in regulation, and the Celtics held a 9-3 corner kick advantage. The Trailblazers out-shot the Celtics, 5-3, through both overtimes. DiGiorno and Schwab each had four shots on goal.

Lauren Forte (SO/Johnstown, Pa.) made seven saves in the complete game effort.

Carlow faces Point Park University Thursday, Oct. 17 at Highmark Stadium. Although it is a Point Park home match, the Celtics will celebrate Senior Night before the 5 p.m. kickoff.
