Strong third set not enough to lift Volleyball past Brescia

OWENSBORO, Ky. --- Carlow University volleyball went 0-2 on the road this weekend after a 3-0 loss to Brescia University Saturday.

The Celtics (6-8, 0-5 RSC) put together a strong third set, but the Bearcats (15-4, 5-1 RSC) came out on top, 25-23.

Brescia handled Carlow easily in the first two sets, winning both by a score of 25-12.

Brescia's only loss in conference action so far is to RSC West leader Indiana University Kokomo.

Cache Street (JR/Wilmerding, Pa.) hit .310 on the day with 13 kills, and freshman Sabrina Skukalek (Sewickley, Pa.) earned all of Carlow's assists with 19. Freshmen Ellie Cook (Connellsville, Pa.) and Miranda Depkon (Pittsburgh, Pa.) added nine digs apiece.

Carlow hosts Penn State Greater Allegheny for a 7 p.m. USCAA match on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Links to live coverage can be found at:
