Volleyball swept by hard-hitting Grenadiers

NEW ALBANY, Ind. --- Carlow University volleyball lost, 3-0, to Indiana University Southeast in a River States Conference road game Friday.

The Celtics (6-7, 0-4 RSC) started out strong in the first set, but the Grenadiers went on a 12-6 run to win, 25-16.

The Grenadiers (14-4, 4-1 RSC) hit .500 in the second set, winning 25-13. IU Southeast won the third set, 25-15.

The Grenadiers hit .438 on the day compared to Carlow's .143. IU Southeast had 51 kills and 45 digs, while the Celtics had 21 and 24, respectively.

Junior Cache Street (Wilmerding, Pa.) made up almost half the Carlow offense with 10 kills, and Sabrina Skukalek (FR/Sewickley, Pa.) added 18 assists.

Carlow completes its RSC road trip at Brescia (Ky.) University Saturday, Oct. 5 at 12 p.m.
