Volleyball splits pair of games at Penn State DuBois tri-match

DUBOIS, Pa. -- Carlow University volleyball won, 3-0, over host Penn State DuBois and lost, 3-0, to Penn State Fayette at the PSU DuBois tri-match Saturday.

In the evening game, the Celtics (5-2 overall, 5-2 USCAA) took the first set from host PSU DuBois, 25-19.

DuBois (1-7) kept it close in the second set, but Carlow pulled away again with a 25-21 win. The Celtics handled DuBois easily in the third set, 25-14, to win the game.

DuBois out-hit the Celtics in the final two sets, but Carlow came out on top.

Junior Cache Street (Wilmerding, Pa.) had 10 kills and hit .435 in the game, and Sabrina Skukalek (FR/Sewickley, Pa.) added 19 assists.

Carlow did not fare as well against Penn State Fayette (5-1) in the first game of the day, falling 3-0.

Fayette overcame the Celtics, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-18.
Street had another 10 kills, and Skukalek put up 24 assists.

Carlow hosts Penn State Beaver Sept. 19 for a USCAA match at 7 p.m. in St. Joseph Athletic & Fitness Center. The game will be broadcast live at portal.stretchinternet.com/Carlow.
