Kijowski chases NAIA qualifying time, Track & Field competes at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Carlow University Track & Field competed in the Westminster College Invitational Saturday.

Sophomore Larissa Kijowski (Dayton, Pa.) traveled individually to the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic, chasing an NAIA qualifying time in the 1500.

Kijowski finished 51st of 108 with a time of 4:50.64, improving her time by five seconds since last weekend but finishing just eight seconds shy of qualifying for NAIA nationals.

In New Wilmington, sophomore Olivia Miller (Bolivar, Pa.) improved her 7.50 meter distance in shot put to 8.87 meters, finishing 36th of 58. She took 11th of 25 in high jump with a height of 1.46 meters.

Senior Bailey Klems (Lower Burrell, Pa.) threw a distance of 7.62 meters in shot put and finished 28th of 35 in javelin with a distance of 19.52 meters.

Shannon Depree (FR/Crabtree, Pa.) ran 30.39 to finish 33rd of 38 in the 200 and finished 25th of 28 in the 400 with a time of 1:10.25.

Gabrielle Kluger (SR/Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) finished 27th of 35 in the 800 with a time of 2:45.54.

On the men’s side, junior Javondii Myers (Columbia, S.C.) added another top-10 finish to his season, placing 8th of 22 in high jump with a height of 1.84 meters. He finished 27th of 35 in long jump with a distance of 5.19 meters.

Freshman Justin Molitoris (Pittsburgh, Pa.) ran a personal best of 55.76, placing 38th of 48 in the 400.

Zach Byczynski (JR/Finleyville, Pa.) threw discus 24.36 meters to finish 47th of 56, and Robert Hoffman (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) placed 34th of 47 in javelin with a distance of 33.27 meters.

Three other Celtics also competed in the javelin throw.

Carlow travels to the Geneva College invite April 17.
