Track & Field scores well at Bethany College Invitational

FINAL RESULTS

BETHANY, W.Va. -- Carlow University Track & Field competed at the Bethany College Invitational Saturday.

The women’s team finished 11th of 13 with a team score of 12.

Sophomore Larissa Kijowski (Dayton, Pa.) scored points with her performances in the 800 and 1500.

She placed third in the 800 with a time of 2:25.53, and finished fourth in the 1500 with a time of 4:57.42.

The 4x400 relay team of Kijowski, Leanne Glaub (SR/West Seneca, N.Y.), Gabrielle Kluger (SR/Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and Shannon Depree (FR/Crabtree, Pa.) finished with a time of 4:39.84 to secure an eighth place finish.

Sophomore Olivia Miller (Bolivar, Pa.) scored points for the Celtics in high jump. Her height of 1.45 meters landed her in eighth place, narrowly missing her career best of 1.48.

Miller also placed well in long jump, where she finished 11th with a distance of 4.59 meters.

Sophomore Hayli King (Leechburg, Pa.) threw her best score in javelin, finishing 15th with a distance of 23.73 meters, and senior Bailey Klems (Lower Burrell, Pa.) threw her best distance in shot put, finishing 35th with 7.86 meters.

The men’s team finished 12th of 13 with a team score of 12.

Javondii Myers (JR/Columbia, S.C.) scored points for the Celtics in high jump and long jump.

He finished third in high jump with a height of 1.87 meters, and eighth in long jump with his personal best distance of 5.84 meters.

Myers has had eight top 10 finishes in 2019 so far in high jump, long jump and triple jump.

Freshman Robert Hoffman (Pittsburgh, Pa.) added to the Carlow score, throwing 48.45 meters to place third in javelin.

Kevin Sheehan (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) ran a personal best time of 18:14.25 to place 16th in the 5000.

Carlow travels to Slippery Rock University for the Dave Labor Invitational on April 9.
