Men’s Golf competes at Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougar Classic

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Carlow University men’s golf team competed in the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougar Classic Oct. 13.

The Celtics ended up 10th of 10 teams in the event with a team score of 570.

Freshman Jake Stariha (Leechburg, Pa.) led the Celtics, shooting an 81 and a 40 in the shortened tournament. He finished 26th out of 57 players.

Other Carlow golfers included Louis Stefanik (84, 42); Nick Paone (107, 52); freshman Lucas Smith (122, 58) – Pittsburgh, Pa.; and junior Garrett Belich (106, 66) – Aliquippa, Pa.

The Celtics head to the River States Conference Fall Preview at the Belterra Casino Resort & Spa in Florence, Ind. Oct. 29 and 30. The original dates were set earlier in the month, but the classic was postponed due to inclement weather.
