UNIONTOWN, PA. – Three Carlow University women’s cross country runners medaled en route to a third place team finish at the Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13.
Sophomores Amanda Espy (Oil City, Pa.), Olivia Miller (Bolivar, Pa.) and Larissa Kijowski (Dayton, Pa.) placed ninth, 10th and 11th respectively to earn medals for the Celtics. The top 12 finishers in the men’s and women’s categories received medals.
Espy finished ninth of 47 runners with a time of 27:08.5, Miller finished in 27:24.7 and Kijowski ran a 27:42.2 in the 6K race.
NCAA DII Alderson Broaddus University runner Kierra Hodge won the race with a time of 24:38.5, and the Battlers placed first as a team.
The Celtics had a team average of 28:57 and placed third of six teams.
Other Carlow scorers were Kaitlynn Melvin (FR/Belle Vernon, Pa.) 29:06.9; Megan Horgan (JR/Bethel Park, Pa.) 30:18.5; and Katherine Winter (JR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) 30:44.7.
