PITTSBURGH -- Carlow University women's soccer player Alexa Schwab (JR/Conway, Pa.) scored a hat trick en route to a 4-0 win over Washington Adventist University Monday, Oct. 1 at Highmark Stadium.
Schwab scored the first goal for the Celtics (5-4, 4-0 RSC, 2-0 USCAA) on a pass from Malak Shuman (JR/ Monroeville, Pa.) under the three minute mark, and the team never looked back.
Schwab assisted on the goal by senior Kristina Wallace (Jeannette, Pa.) in the 21st minute, and turned around to add another goal a minute later, putting the Celtics up, 3-0, over Washington Adventist (5-6) at halftime.
Schwab sealed the deal in the 65th minute on a goal kick that was misplayed by the Shock defense, securing her hat trick and adding another game to the win column for the Celtics, who are currently riding a five-game win streak.
Freshman Lauren Forte (Johnstown, Pa.) started in goal for Carlow, stopping all four shots she faced. Carlow out-shot the Shock, 14-9.
Carlow travels to Ohio Christian University Oct. 6 for a 2 p.m. River States Conference game. Ohio Christian, Point Park University and the Celtics are the only teams remaining in the RSC without a loss so far this season.
