Volleyball falls, 3-1, to RSC opponent Midway (Ky.)

MIDWAY, Ky. --- Carlow University volleyball dropped a River States Conference match, 3-1, at Midway (Ky.) University Saturday, Sept. 29.

The first two sets were evenly matched between the teams, with each team trading leads back and forth.

Carlow (6-10, 1-3 RSC, 5-3 USCAA) came up with a 25-22 win in the first set, but the Eagles (3-15, 1-4 RSC) took the second set, 25-23.

Midway pulled away in the next two sets, 25-20 and 25-17, to win its first RSC match of the season.

Michaela Koran (SR/ North Olmsted, Ohio) had a double-double with 13 kills, 10 digs and eight assists, and sophomore Cache Street (Wilmerding, Pa.) added 10 kills.

Freshman Mariah Lomire (Pittsburgh, Pa.) added 27 digs, and Jenna Albert (FR/Monongahela, Pa.) put up 18 assists.

Midway led 51-38 in kills over the course of the game.

The Celtics travel to WVU Tech and Rio Grande (Ohio) for an RSC road trip Oct. 5 and 6.
