Volleyball falls to unbeaten Asbury (Ky.) in RSC match

WILMORE, Ky. --- Carlow University volleyball lost a River States Conference game at Asbury (Ky.) University Friday, Sept. 28.

The Celtics (6-9, 1-2 RSC, 5-3 USCAA) kept it close in the first set, behind only 22-20 at the end of the set. Asbury (12-7, 4-0 RSC) called a quick timeout and pulled away with three kills in a row to win the first set, 25-21.

The Eagles took an early lead in the second set, getting ahead 6-0 before Carlow scored a point, and the Celtics never recouped the deficit.

Exotica Hall (FR/Yokosuka, Japan) led the team with six kills. Senior Mandy Toman (Beulah, Colo.) added 10 digs, and Michaela Koran (SR/North Olmsted, Ohio) and Jenna Albert (FR/Monongahela, Pa.) had eight assists each.

Asbury is one of only three teams remaining without a loss in the RSC yet this season.
