Celtics shut out Brescia to remain unbeaten in RSC play

The Carlow women’s soccer team shut out Brescia, 3-0, on the road Saturday, Sept. 22 to remain undefeated in River States Conference play.

After beginning the season with four tough non-conference contests, the Celtics (2-4/2-0/0-0) won two RSC games this week by a combined score of 11-0.

Against the Bearcats, Rachel Toogood (SO/Bethel Park, Pa.) scored Carlow’s first goal in the 13th minute and the Celtics took a 1-0 lead to halftime.

Alexa Schwab (JR/Conway, Pa.) assisted a pair of insurance goals in the second half. Gabby Adams (FR/Carrboro, N.C.) added the Celtics' second goal in the 73rd minute and Lexie Houk (JR/Racine, Pa.) netted the third in the 88th minute.

Lauren Forte (FR/Johnstown, Pa.) played 90 minutes in goal to earn the shutout.

The Celtics (2-4/2-0/0-0) host West Virginia University Institute of Technology, at 5pm Thursday, at Highmark Stadium.
