Celtics finish 4th at USCAA Tip-Off Tournament

The Carlow volleyball team finished 4th of nine teams at the USCAA Tip-Off Tournament, at Penn State Beaver, on Saturday, Sept. 1.

The Celtics (1-2/0-0/1-2) lost to Florida National, 3-0 (10-25, 24-26, 16-25), in the semifinals after Friday’s pool play.

Carlow defeated Penn State Greater Allegheny and fell to Maine Fort Kent to earn the No. 4 seed. The Conquistadors defeated Penn State Fayette and Cincinnati Clermont to earn the No. 1 seed.

Against FNU, the Celtics were led by Michaela Koran (SR/North Olmsted, Ohio) with seven kills, eight assists, two serving aces and four digs.

Mandy Toman (SR/Beulah, Colo.) added six kills and 11 digs.

The Celtics next play Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Penn State Fayette.
